Ellis Paul Returns

  #
We so enjoyed Ellis when he came through with Catie Curtis that we're bringing him here in November this year.  Ellis has a personality that simply resonates from the stage.   Time is a wastin', so we are shamelessly stealing from Ellis' website

"Despite his success and sense of history, Mr. Paul remains an artist with his eye on the future and an interest in discovering the transformative potential in his music."
- The New York Times

Some artists document their lives through their music. Others chronicle their times. It’s a rare artist who can do both, telling their own story through songs that also encapsulate the essence of people and places who have helped define their era overall. Woody Guthrie comes to mind, and so does Bob Dylan. Bruce Springsteen certainly as well. Yet few others, for whatever genius they may possess, can relate their own history to the history experienced by those who find that common bond, be it in a coming of age, living through the same realities or sharing similar experiences.

Ellis Paul is one of those gifted singer/songwriters.Though some may refer to him as a folksinger, he is more, for lack of a better word, a singular storyteller, a musician whose words reach out from inside and yet also express the feelings, thoughts and sensibilities that most people can relate to in one way or another, regardless of age or upbringing. The exhilaration of the open road. A celebration of heroes. The hope for redemption. Descriptions of those things that are both near and dear. The sharing of love..., intimate, passionate and enduring.

So join us up on the hill for another magical night of music and storytelling.

Heather Maloney will open our season in on September 14th.   Heather, a Massachusetts singer songwriter played at MeadowGrass this year to a very excited crowd.  I am pressed for time, so we will let her press quotes speak for Heather.   We look forward to seeing all your smiling faces next month.

Our 16th Season Begins Next Month!

  #

Who would have thought, back in 2002, that we would open up our home for 16 seasons of house concerts?!  Not me, that's for sure!   But here we are, Friends House Concerts starting our 16th season on Thursday, September 14th.   4 weeks from this evening!

Thank you for your patronage over the years, we could not have done this without you.  We remain committed to bringing world class music to Colorado Springs and making you all feel welcome here at Casa Luckett.  We Please join us up on the hill and see the improvements we've made for a pleasant walk through the woods instead of a trek up the driveway...

The best cure for the insanity of this upside down world is losing yourself in an evening of mirth and song.   Come join us...
